Registration FAQ

Question: How much is BSA Due?

For the breakdown of BSA fees and Pacific Skyline Council fees per scout, please refer to the Membership Fee Chart.

Question: How much is Troop Fee and what it covers?

Troop 37 & 201 will collect troop dues in late November. The troop fee is $120 per scout.

What do your scout’s troop dues cover?

  • Merit badges, awards, and ranks distributed to Scouts at the Courts of Honor
  • Administrative items like troop insurance, rentals, websites, and financial fees
  • Items used by the scouts like Class B t-shirts, neckerchiefs, patrol box item replacements, etc.
  • Coverage for additional items that come up, such as additional event costs

We try very hard to just break even financially, and we have historically done that well.  We appreciate your support.

Question: My cub scout won’t bridge over until March 2025 (after BSA registration deadline), how will the council fee be handled?

If xxx(cub scout) isn’t bridging until March, you would renew his membership in Pack xx now ($170). There is no additional national or council fee to transfer to a troop, if they are currently registered. There may be additional troop fees that the new troop requires (those fees stay with the troop).

When his membership expires again on 1/31/2026, he will renew at the Scouts BSA rate (currently $290). Any troop fees would be in addition to the (currently) $290 membership fee for Scouts BSA youth.

Note: If you let his membership lapse and then choose to register xxx directly with the troop in March, the fee will be the $290 Scouts BSA membership fee.
