White Water Rafting

An exciting opportunity to raft the South Fork of the American River while earning the two merit badges and an award!

You earn the Whitewater Merit Badge, Kayak Merit Badge and Whitewater Rafting Award in just two days on the river

$370 per participant with all meals and equipment provided by the rafting tour guides. 

Parents, guardians and siblings are welcome to join the adventure.

Depart: July 3, from Covington in Class A uniform. Drive up to Coloma together having dinner en route, arrive at campsite (5461 Bassi Rd, Lotus CA 95651) in the evening. Camp overnight (tents provided by the rafting tour guides)

• Wednesday: Hot drinks served at 7 am, breakfast after 8 am. We gear up and get on the river after 10:30 am. We raft all day on the Gorge, taking a break for lunch. We return to camp after 4:30 pm. Dinner is served after 6:30 pm.
• Thursday: Hot drinks served at 7 am, breakfast after 8 am. We leave in a van around 9 am and drive up to Chili Bar. We all raft down 6 miles to Marshall Park. There we put some of the participants into duckies. Everyone travels the 3 miles back to our camp via the river.

Return: Eat a late lunch at camp and say goodbye around 3 pm. Arrive Covington around 5:30pm
