SUMMARY:Black Mountain Backpacking
DESCRIPTION:We got the permit to camp at Black Mountain Friday\, October 1st with a max of 24 people (adults and scouts combined). The campsite has a restroom.\n\nThis is an opportunity for the younger scouts to do meal planning. We will hike 2 miles into the campsite. Next morning we will have breakfast and hike down 8 miles\n\n\n\nThe campsite has a restroom.  All scouts please bring at least one liter of drinking water for the hike down to Rancho San Antonio the next morning.\n\n\nThe parents will drop off the participants on Oct 1st in the dark\, and the scouts hike about 2 miles to the campsite location overlooking Silicon Valley.  In the morning the scouts cook breakfast using the troop’s gas stoves and then they hike about 8 miles downhill to Rancho San Antonio where the parents pick them up.\n\nEach participant would need a backpack.  The trip also provides an opportunity for the younger scouts to learn maps and compass.

SUMMARY:Gold Rush Adventure! 2021
DESCRIPTION:Experience the “gold fever” of pioneers flocking west to find their fame and fortune. Do you have what takes to stake and work your claim? Pan for gold\, shoot archery and muzzleloading rifles\, start a fire with flint & steel\, make candles\, rope\, and bullets\, lasso a steer and cut wood for your cabin! \nCost: $40 per participant. \nLimit of 30 total participants per troop (scouts\, adults\, Webelos & their adult).  Webelos must attend with one parent. \nScout limit:  11 current troop scouts. Scouts who attend will host the Webelos guests and possibly help run stations.\nTroop Adult limit: 5 adults.  Each adult will help run stations or cook for adults + Webelos parents.\nWebelos II guest limit: 7 Webelos 2 scouts\nWebelos II parent limit: 7 Webelos 2 parent chaperones (1:1 for Webelos 2 scouts).  Webelos 2 parents don’t have to accompany their Webelos 2 scouts all day\, and can help run the troop stations \nTroop 201 & 37 will be responsible for running Bucksaw\, Plungers\, Knot Tying\, and post camp-fire Dessert. \nPlease remember to: \n1. Bring the consent forms (your scout will not be able to participate at shooting and tomahawk throw without them).\n2. Give your scouts some change (quarters and dollars – no bills larger than $5) for the Saloon and General Store\n3. Bring dinner for Friday night.\n4. Meet up at LAYC prior to 4pm on Friday.\n5.
