SUMMARY:Festival of Lights Parade
DESCRIPTION:The Los Altos Festival of Lights Parade is a fun outdoor activity that the whole community attends. It’s fun to see others happy as we sell them goodies\, especially the glow-in-the-dark items. \nSince 1977\, the Festival of Lights Parade has lit up downtown Los Altos to kick off the holiday season. Drawing large crowds each year\, this holiday parade has quickly become one of the most popular Los Altos events of the year. With a theme of “A Child’s Holiday Fantasy\,” the parade features approximately twenty-five illuminated floats\, twinkling walking storybook characters\, the mayors of Los Altos and Los Altos Hills\, local high school marching bands\, and\, of course\, Santa with his sleigh and reindeer. \n\n\n             Meeting time: 2:00 PM \n             Meeting location: In front of Safeway in downtown Los Altos             Service duration: 2:00 – 5:00 PM \nFull Class A Uniform required.  Look as best as possible.   \nThis is a great way to get service hours. This is a troop tradition every year for us to help at the annual Festival of Lights parade. \nThis year we are going to be guarding the floats before the parade. We will be patrolling around where the floats are parked before the parade\, and making sure nobody is messing around on them. \nThis is really important for the troop because this is a way of giving back to the city\, and it is a tradition to support this event. \nWe should be done before the parade begins.
