BSA New Registration (for Adult)
ONE adult per family will be required to register through BSA online
The BSA now mandates all events to have at least two registered adults with up-to-date training, including one female adult for T201 scout events, and every adult attending an overnight camp must also be registered. Requesting one registered adult per family can ensure smoother planning for our nearly 50 events per year including several weeklong camps and a dozen overnight camps.
Please follow below steps for adult registration:
- Step 1: Register or transfer (for families with scouts promoted from cub scout) one adult per family on the my.scouting.org website under T4201 adult or T37 adult. Create an account at https://my.scouting.org if you do not have one.
- Step 2: Take Scouting America’s new Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) at my.scouting.org. SYT is to replace YPT and will be mandated after 5/31/2026.
- Step 3: Complete your AB506 requirements. Click here for details, including training and forms.
- 2 Hour Mandated Reporter Training – This is different from Scouting America’s Safeguarding Youth Training. You can do the Boy Scouts, Volunteer, or General version. There is a fee, charged by the training provider, to view or download your certificate.
- Background Check Consent Form – This is different from Scouting America’s Criminal Background Check Form that is part of the Adult Application.
- Live Scan Fingerprinting – This must be completed using the Pacific Skyline Council form, even if you have done fingerprinting for other organizations, such as youth sports, school, or employment.
- Once all 3 AB506 requirements are recorded at the council office, you will be sent a PacSky AB506 completion certificate. The certificates are manually made and sent out weekly.
- Step 4: Fill out 2026 troop registration form, select “New Registration”, and attach documentation from step 2-3.
Note: Previously, the troop covered adult registration fees. However, moving forward, since the BSA now requires dues to be paid directly to them, adults will be responsible for paying their own registration fee through the BSA website.
For breakdown of adult fees, please refer to the Membership Fee Chart.
